DOMAINE VITICOLE

Between Toulon and Marseille, THE DOMAINE COSTES GALLINES is situated on the surroundings of La Cadière d' Azur in the VAR, not far from the Mediterranean Sea and the sand beaches of St Cyr Les Lecques and Bandol. A Family Domain of 8 hectares.

A little bit of history.... the Domain is in our family since 1890 and was transmitted only by women who were all wine producers since 5 generations. The 6th generation will follow, because two daughters of the current owner study the culture of vineyards(vines), the oenology, the marketing and commercial sides. Our grandfather even participated in the elaboration of the AOC BANDOL(PROTECTED DESIGNATION OF ORIGIN BANDOL) at the end OF the 1930's
The privileged climate of our region offers 3000 hours of sun and 650 mm of water a year. But the realization of this AOC(PROTECTED DESIGNATION OF ORIGIN) contains very precise rules, with, for example, the bond of " green grape harvests " to remove a part of the grapes at the beginning of the summer so that the harvest does not exceed 35Hl / hectare), no grape harvesters, but grapes picked up by hand, to collect only the rape grapes . The RED conservation of wines BANDOL is made in oak barrels during 18 months.  

Our property is surrounded with olive trees and allows us to produce the olive oil that we also sell to our cellar.
The DOMAINE COSTES GALLINES is situated on hillsides between the villages of La Cadière d' Azur and Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer . Do not hesitate to visit our cellar for free tasting and sales from Monday to Saturday. Opening hours : 9h-12h and 15h-19h. Besides the AOC BANDOL(PROTECTED DESIGNATION OF ORIGIN BANDOL), we also produce some "VIN DE PAYS", red, rosé and white.
